Intel Core i7-7700k Proves 'Best Processing Chip' After Series of Test Using ROG Strix Z270E, MSI Z270 Pro, And Gigabyte 7 Motherboards

The highly acclaimed Intel Core i7-7700K has been officially revealed. The quad-core 7th-Gen CPU will certainly release a beast kind of specs and capabilities. Since the AMD Ryzen Summit Ridge, specifically the flagship SR7, fans seem to have doubts about what the Intel Core i7-7700K has to offer. But, considering the price, specs, and capabilities, experts suggests that the Intel Core i7-7700K processor is still the "Best Processing Chip."

Gaming experts such as  and  have initiated the test for Intel Core i7-7700K using different motherboards. The motherboards used are the ROG Strix Z270E, MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon, and Gigabyte Z270 Gaming 7.

Using the ROG Strix Z270E Motherboard. After testing the waters with Intel Core i7-7700K under the ROG Strix Z270E platform, results found are pretty astonishing. The Intel Core i7-7700K overclocking was less of a hassle. As reported, the Intel Core i7-7700K base speed of 4.0 GHz can be boosted to 4.2 GHz. There is also an option to manually overclock the Intel Core i7-7700K to 5 GHz, and using the Asus' UEFI BIOS, monitoring graphic card temperatures and the information is readily available.

Performance under ROG Strix Platform. Intel Core i7-7700K performance was tested using the ROG Realbench and Cinebench R15 under stock clocks with a turbo of 4.5 GHz and 5.0 GHz (turbo off). Surprisingly, the system was able to finish Realbench and its encoding test without any hassle. Using MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon and Gigabyte Z270 Gaming 7 Motherboards. The Intel Core i7-7700k temperature was tested on both motherboards with the same configuration (EIST off, Turbo off, Frequency 4.5 GHz fix, and Cstates off). Intel Core i7-7700K revealed an impressive +/- 1C rise from the occasional 90C-94C range for the Gigabyte motherboard while 80C-82C for MSI motherboard.

Performance. Benchmark testing with Hyperthreading disabled on the Intel Core i7-7700K resulted to 60 minutes completion. Overclocking of 5.1 GHz was achieved for MSI Pro Carbon with less hassle over 4 minutes stock. The Cinebench testing result showed an impressive 988 points for full stock configuration of Intel Core i7-7700K with hyperthreading. Although disabling the hyperthreading drops result to 767 cb marks.
