The new is designed to offer modern mechanical and technological features. For one, it is now 500 pounds lighter than the previous model thanks to an all-aluminum body.
Under the hood is a 3.5-liter twin turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine replacing the 6.2 V8 from the last model. The previous engine's magnificent roar and growl just don't compare to the current V6 engine which is able to churn out 450 horsepower and 510 pound-foot of torque. The new engine is paired with an amazing 10-gear paddle-shifted transmission. The previous model's off-road system is replaced with six modes three of which are designed for street driving and another for where the roads end.
Suspension-wise, it has 13 inches up front and 13.9 inches at the rear. The nine-stage Fox shocks are shock sensitive, able to change compression and rebound characteristics depending on the position. This provides for somewhat a guarantee of ride comfort regardless of the terrain.
The most amazing feature of the new Raptor is probably the Baja driving mode. With the Baja mode on, one can see the full potential of the Raptor's high-speed off-road capabilities. It is able to take whatever is thrown at it while providing a very comfortable, stable, and smooth drive and an exhilarating off-road experience.
