A 2019 Toyota Supra brochure was reportedly leaked. The image scan of the alleged brochure surfaced online and quickly hit the rounds. However, it the brochure leak was already confirmed to be a fake.
In a report by , Motor1 allegedly found the brochure posted on a Serbian website. The brochure looked like it could be the brochure of the 2018 Toyota Supra. However, the brochure did not feature a Supra on the cover, and it did not look like it was from 2017.
The first giveaway was the cover. The car was evidently not a Supra; it was the Toyota FT-1 concept car. Although the Supra could take styling cues from the concept, the headlines looked a bit extreme.
Additionally, the brushed metal background and hand-brushed old Supra logo just didn't feel very Supra-like. The awkward "The Sports of Toyota" tagline also looked all too fake as well. All-in-all, the brochure was obviously something that was made through Photoshop and not official-looking at all.
While the brochure was fake, its engines did coincide with the previous report. Previously, it was reported that the Supra would share the same engines as the BMZ Z5. According to , the brochure provided that the new 2019 Toyota Supra would allegedly have 2.0 and 3.0-liter engines.
The Z5 will come with three engine choices. The sDrive20i will have 191 horsepower and a 2.0-liter R4 engine. The sDrive30i will have 252 horsepower and feature a 2.0-liter R4 engine. And finally, the M40i will have 340 horsepower and a 3.0-liter R6 engine. While the brochure is a fake, the engine choices do match the alleged engines for the Z5.
Finally, the text reveals that the 2019 Toyota Supra will be 172 inches long, 72 inches wide, and 50 inches tall. This would mean that it is longer and wider than the Toyota 86. The sports car's weight is allegedly between 2,976 and 3,152 pounds. The buyer has a choice of 18 or 19-inch wheels.
Considering that some of the details do make sense, it is probable that some of the other brochure "leaks" will be available on the 2018 Supra. Hopefully, the new sports car will live up to all the hype. The sports car previously went out of production in 2002. That means that fans have been waiting for its comeback for over 15 years already.
The 2019 Toyota Supra will preview in October later this year at the Tokyo Auto Show. It will be on sale in 2018 and will be a 2019 model. It will come right after the BMW Z5 so once we see what that looks like, we'll know for sure what the new Supra will look like.
