The brand new Honda Civic Si Sedan made its world debut through a global reveal video broadcast via Honda's YouTube channel. Now, the automaker has officiated the 2017 Honda Civic Si at the upcoming 2017 New York International Auto Show, designed to be above the regular Civic Turbo but below the hot Honda Civic Type R.

Jeff Conrad, senior vice president-automobile Division, American Honda, said; "The is our first turbocharged Si and sets a new sporty compact benchmark in terms of agility and precise handling while building toward the launch of the Type R as the final chapter in our epic 10th-generation Civic story." Both the Civic Si sedan and coupe will have a turbocharged 1.5-liter four cylinder engine.

The new Civic Si sedan is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged direct injection four-cylinder that comes with dual variable cam timing and mated to a short throw six-speed manual transmission. Power is just identical to its predecessor, coming in at 205 horsepower. The maximum torque of 206 Nm is from the 2,300 rpm and is sustained from 2,100 to 5,000 rpm.

In addition, the car's weight has been reduced, though its body is far more rigid compared to the current model. Compared to the regular Civic, the new Civic Si sedan gets a dual-pinion adaptive electric power steering system with variable ratios, a helical limited-slip differential, larger 12.3-inch front brake rotors, an adaptive damper set up, and a wider 235/40 R18 tires. There are also two driving modes offered:  has latter adjusts damper, steering and throttle response for a more direct driving experience.

On the inside, the Si Sedan will get exclusive bucket seats with red stitching and Si logos. The red stitching extends to the doors, steering wheel and leather shift boot. For a more sporty appeal, the driver's TFT display and audio system illumination are also red.

Other features will include an 18-inch ten spoke alloy wheels with a dual-tone finish, deck lid spoiler with LED third brake light, and chrome center-mounted polygonal exhaust finisher. The 2017 Honda Civic Si Sedan and Coupe will go on sale this May 2017 with an MSRP in the mid $20,000 range.
