The first official video for 2018 BMW X3 was launched today. A completely overhauled X3 was unveiled.
The 2018 BMW X3 is finally showcased today, unveiling the final fresh design and features. An official video was posted on the of the automaker. The new midsize SUV is coming out with all-new chassis, technology features, design language and engines.
The new X3 looks aggressive and more masculine on the outside, yet still comes with its iconic X3 look. The classic shoulder line was retained to keep the conventional X3 look. Whereas, the classic Hofmeister Kink of the BMW now appears to have a new design.
The front fascia has also received a major refresh. The grilles are larger and new headlights were installed. The headlights were also separated from the grilles now. Under the grille, the exhaust is bigger and looks more rugged, as well as the side vents.
From the rear section, slight changes can also be noticed. The taillights, which appear to be slightly different from the previous model, now feature the brand's conventional "L" shape.
Furthermore, the new SUV is reportedly lighter than its predecessor with its new chassis. The new model took on the brand's latest scalable lightweight architecture.
The 2018 BMW X3 runs with the brand's smart . The new model is expected to perform better in the mud and dirt.
There are three variants of the new X3 that are currently available in Hong Kong. Interested buyers can choose from the xDrive20d, xDrive30d and M40i models. The xDrive20d can deliver 56.5mpg and 132g/km while the xDrive30d can do 49.5mpg and 149g/km fuel economy. The third option, M40i offers 34.4mpg and 188g/km.
As previously reported, the new X3 has been speculated to be launched sooner than expected. The theory was based on the numerous spy shots and the recent testing at Nurburgring. Indeed, speculations turned out to be true as the 2018 BMW X3 is being launched today.
